Have you ever noticed that having foods presented in different way tastes better, or are just a lot more fun? As an example, when I was a kid, sandwiches cut diagonally ALWAYS tasted so much better! Or how fair food is always served on a stick. Fun, right?
Well, what would you think about taking an already fun drink, hot cocoa, and making it even more fun. “Impossible!” you say? Nope, it’s actually possible…..just add a stick!
Hot Cocoa on a Stick
Don’t these look fun? Oh, and they are super tasty…….you know for those times when, as the cook, you want to sneak a taste!
Okay, okay, enough talking let’s get to the kitchen and make some!
Adapted from HERE
Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 14-ounce can sweetened condensed milk (1 1/4 cups)
- 3 cups semisweet chocolate chips
- 3/4 cup dutch processed cocoa powder
- 4 Tbsp butter
- Stir sticks
In another sauce pan, add the cream and sweetened condensed milk. (Be sure to stir to keep the milk mixture from scorching.) When warm, just barely simmering, remove from heat and add the chocolate chips & the cocoa powder/butter mixture. Stir until this mixture becomes smooth and glossy. (If needed, you can place your pan back on the stove to warm up a bit…however, I didn’t need to do this).
Pour your chocolate mixture into a parchment paper lined 8″x8″ or 7″x11″ pan. Allow it to cool over night.
