Wow, it’s hard to believe that it’s already November! It’s definitely the beginning of “THE” holiday season. If there is anything that I’ve learned from years past, it’s this: establish a plan/schedule. I’ve found that without a plan, I’m running around like a turkey with my head cut off. Part of my plan is LOADS of goodies to share with you. Stay tuned for updates!
Anyway, speaking of running around like a turkey with my head cut off, I’ve got a fun, and super easy, project to kick off the Thanksgiving holiday. Check it out!
Aren’t these cute? I think I will make enough so that I can place one at each place setting this Thanksgiving. That may seem like a lot of work but trust me, its’ not. Nope, it’s easy from start to finish. All your crafting supplies are available at your local Jo-Ann store and your kitchen. Here’s what you’ll need.
Supplies:
- Pinecones (these cinnamon scented ones are simply divine)
- Autumn silk or dried floral sprigs
- Cork Test Tube Stoppers/Lids
- Googley eyes
- Canning lids (or the top off a recycled can…just make sure it’s not sharp)
- Felt in red, yellow, and brown
- Hot glue gun & glue
- Wire cutter
Doesn’t this guy look great?
Here’s his friend.
I think they make a pretty handsome pair, don’t you? Now just imagine these guys along with some more turkey friends scattered around your table or at each place setting. I’m thinking this would be pretty fun!
But wait, there’s more! Yes, if you are looking for more turkey inspirations this Thanksgiving season, search #turkeytablescapes on all your social media. You’ll find all sorts of amazing projects…in fact you’ll have a hard time deciding which one to create first. There’s also TONS of holiday ideas at The Jo-Ann Craft Catalog and the Jo-Ann Celebrate the Season Site. I have one final gift to you: A 50% off coupon good until November 30, 2013.
