Don’t you just love it when you can make something in 15 minutes or less and it has a gourmet quality? I know I sure do. If you like seafood, here’s a recipe for you!
Quick and Easy Seafood Salad/Dip
Ingredients:
1/2 pound of salad shrimp (the real little guys)
1/4 pound crab meat (I used imitations crab meat)
4 green onions thinly sliced crosswise (white and green parts)
1/4 cup mayonnaise
1/4 cup sour cream
1/2 – 1 tsp ground garlic
1/2-1 tsp cayenne pepper
1/2-1 tsp dried dill weed
1/2-1 tsp ground black pepper
Directions:
If your shrimp was frozen, rinse it and dry it off on paper towels. If you are using real crab meat, check for shells and if you are using imitation crab, chop it up into small pieces.
In a bowl, add the mayonnaise, sour cream, garlic, cayenne pepper, dill weed, and black pepper. Mix thoroughly.
Add the shrimp, crab meat, and green onions to your bowl. Mix well to ensure your dressing is evenly dispersed.
If making this a dip, serve with crackers. If this is to be eaten as a main course either serve on top of lettuce with other vegetables or enjoy on bread (bun) with lettuce and tomato.
Notes:
- I double this recipe when making it as a main dish for my family of 5
- My family tried this with various crackers and tortilla chips. The results are that tortilla chips are not so good. Regarding crackers, Ritz style are good but the best by far are Pilsner Beer Flats.
Reminder, my giveaway to win a sampler pack of Beer Flats ends August 8 at midnight. You can enter here.
