When I was a little girl, I remember going to my grandmother’s house for holidays. My granddad had a serious sweet tooth and so there were candy dishes in various rooms of the house. A few of them were milk glass. What is milk glass, you ask? Take a look.
I found this glass cutie at Goodwill and thought it would be a great piece to hold the TV remote but I didn’t like the fact that it was clear. So, how about adding some white spray paint and turning it into “milk glass”.
So I got the newspapers out to protect my work area.
I spray painted the top and sides of the piece.
When dried, I flipped it over and painted what I missed with the first coat.
Looks like milk glass to me!
Hey, wait a minute. Let’s look at that first picture again. I just may have made a true copy cat!
Gotta love Goodwill plus a little spray paint!

I’ve always been rather passionate about glass which was tinted blue-green… but I think I may just have to give this a go… there’s something VERY romantic about the look of this white glass… hmmm… nice job! x

I would never have thought to do that. I would be afraid of messing up the pretty clear one. It turned out great for you and really does look like milk glass which I love.———- Shannon

Came over from Twigg. I thought I saw a copy cat. I did, I did! Great project. Beware all you clear glass items lurking at the thrift shops. Your days are numbered!
