A couple of weeks ago I showed you how I make my own homemade yogurt. How about taking all that yogurt goodness and making a spreadable cheese, similar to cream cheese? It’s not hard and doesn’t take a lot of supplies, just time.
Take the cheesecloth/yogurt off the sink tap. Open up your cheesecloth and place the contents in a bowl. As you can see here, I have 2 cups of whey and a little over a cup of yogurt cheese. (8.8 oz or 250 gm).
It’s yummy and a great cream cheese replacement (much more nutritious with a lot more protein and less fat).
If you’d like you can add spices and flavors to your yogurt cheese to make a yummy addition to bagels, sandwiches, or whatever else you’d enjoy! (don’t forget to use your whey in pancakes, muffins, bread, or other baking project)
