When I was a kid, soda pop came in glass bottles that you would return to the grocery store. Why? The bottles were returned to the manufacturers where they would wash the bottles and re-use them. Yup!
This was before “green” was in.
Anyway, I definitely think that any beverage bottled in a glass bottle is sssssooooo much better than in a can or in plastic. Do you agree? My sons do! They have a soft spot for Virgil’s sodas. That means…..
BOTTLE CAPS!!
So I gathered up some supplies and thought I’d create a…
BOTTLE CAP ORNAMENT
I first prepared my bottle caps by washing & drying them and then spray painting them silver.
Then, I pulled out my supplies: regular Mod Podge, Sparkle Mod Podge, 1″ circle punch, scrap book paper (I chose musical paper in honor of my daughter) and a paint brush.
Using the circle punch, I prepared several scrap book paper circles. Then, using the paint brush, I painted the inside of the bottle caps with regular Mod Podge.
I placed one paper circle in the bottle cap. Using the handle of the paint brush, I pushed the paper onto the bottle cap to ensure the edges were secured.
Once dried, I applied a top coat of Sparkle Mod Podge (you could use matte or gloss but I wanted a bit of sparkle to jazz up my ornaments)
When the top coat of Mod Podge was dry, I turned the bottle caps over. Using E-6000, I attached ribbon onto the back of one bottle cap. I then placed the other bottle cap back to back with the other one, sandwiching the ribbon between the two.
Look, an ornament! Small, light, and not difficult. The only time consuming part is waiting for the Mod Podge to dry.
Tomorrow’s inspiration involves glass bulb ornaments! See you then!

Love this. I love bottle caps anyway. When I was a kid I collected them. The skies the limit with this craft! Thanks for showing how. Linda
