Oh my goodness, it’s March 18th already! That means Easter is just a little over 3 weeks away. Can you believe it? That means I’ve got to get hopping on planning my Easter dinner, since I’m hosting this year ….but I’m not stressed. Nope, I’ve got a plan! A fabulous plan for a #HoneyBakedEaster! My plan is for a fun, outdoor, no cook Easter Dinner! Sound good to you?
Okay, let’s start at the beginning. Growing up, Easter dinner was always hosted by either my Grandmother or my mom. Now, when I say hosted, what I mean is that one of these women would spend days cooking and preparing a marvelous spread for everyone to enjoy. But that’s not all. Nope, we would have an Easter ham that they would have to cook on Easter day. Talk about a lot of work.
Oh, and don’t for get that aftermath….the TONS OF DISHES!
Now, I love the idea of getting together with friends and family but all that work cooking and then cleaning…well UGH! Then I had an idea! I picked up some HoneyBaked Ham for Thanksgiving and remembered what the warming instructions for the ham were…..
“For Best Results Serve at Room Temperature”! You see that correctly. This goes for their HoneyBaked Turkey as well. I can serve Easter Ham and Easter Turkey without having to do any cooking. Talk about a yummy AND easy meal thanks to HoneyBaked Ham! Now for the rest of the meal.
Well, I got to thinking…which can be pretty scary, I know. What if I invited people over and had them bring over a side dish or dessert to share? For those who are unable to cook for whatever reason, they could sign up for things like paper products or drinks/ice. The trick will be to coordinate this.
I’ve got an easy method to do this….with a Google Drive Spreadsheet! All you have to do is create a sign-up sheet (you can see mine below) and click on the blue share button. This will give you a link you can share (in an e-mail) with all your invited guests. When they click on the link, they will see your spreadsheet and they can enter in what they are bringing. Pretty cool, huh?
A No Cook Easter Dinner!
I stopped by my HoneyBaked Ham Store on Polaris Parkway to pick up the turkey, ham and something to share. Now, my family has enjoyed many of HoneyBaked Ham sides and desserts (they are so delicious & easy), but not their Lemon Créme Cake so I picked this up for Easter. Doesn’t it look good?
Now, it’s been such a long, dreadful winter, I thought it would be fun to have our no cook Easter dinner outside…so I chose this shelter at one of our neighborhood parks. Just look at this spread ready for everyone to bring their goodies. The HoneyBaked Ham & Turkey are warming up while I wait for everyone to bring their sides…I’m so excited!
I’d love to cut into that Lemon Créme Cake but I don’t think either my friends or family will be too pleased I started without them. However, I am sneaking a bit of ham & turkey…a girl does have to keep her strength up!
Doesn’t it look absolutely delicious?
You too can have a fun, outdoor no cook Easter dinner the #HoneyBakedEaster way! And I’ve got something to share with you that will help you along….
