My daughter is my oldest and she has always been the teacher/leader of my kids. But that’s not all, she also has this innate confidence in herself and she knows that whatever she tries, things will all work out well. This trait bleeds over into any group she is a part of or leads. They always know that things will all work out in the end so go ahead and take a risk.
This confidence landed my lovely daughter her first teaching gig: a camp staffer. Here she is at just 15 ready to do a skit with a fellow camp staffer. (Her camp name for 5 years was “Rocky” ’cause she initially worked with a very tall gentleman in the nature area and hi nickname was…. you guessed it…”Bullwinkle”).
Here she is again helping one of the campers. She truly LOVES working with little kids and inspiring them to take chances and become the best they can be. Her passion fueled these boys’ passion for the outdoors and many stayed in Scouting to become Eagle Scouts…teachers change lives.
Along with working with little kids, when my daughter was 17, she had the opportunity to staff leadership programs where she helped teenage Boy Scouts learn the tools to become strong leaders. Each of these boys worked hard and later became staff members for this program as well…..teachers change lives.
