Pretty cool, don’t you think? If you’ve never sewn your own napkins before, you can find the tutorial HERE. Today, I’m going to share with you how to make these awesome, and easy, coasters!
Supplies:
- Embalm and Scary On napkins available at Jo-Ann Fabric and Crafts
- Ceramic Tiles
- Mod Podge – Matte
- Mod Podge Spray Sealer
- Hot Glue/Glue Gun
- Felt
You want to cut apart your four squares. I thought it would be nice to keep the black frame but as you can see, only the grey section will fit onto the tile.
Now, here’s the VERY important part! You will take your napkin squares outside and spray them (front and back) with Mod Podge Clear Acrylic Sealer.
Once you spray the front and back your napkin will appear translucent but don’t worry. When the napkin dries the color/artwork will return.
Now, your napkin square is nice and stiff and won’t wrinkle when it is applied. Using a foam brush, cover the tile with a coat of Mod Podge and place the stiffened napkin square on top. Smooth out any air bubbles and apply a top coat of Mod Podge. Apply 2-3 additional coats (allowing your coaster to dry thoroughly between coats) of Modge Podge so that you coaster is smooth.
Oh, and I’ve got a little something to help you create your own #spookyspaces! Yup, here’s a 50% off coupon from Jo-Ann Fabrics and Crafts!
