I don’t know about you, but as a parent, I am constantly running from place to place. Let’s take this past week, for example: Moved 2 of my kids into their apartments, 3 night meetings, school started for my youngest, the car spent time at the shop where the repairs grew in number and cost, and our new puppy can jump a mile into the air which means he is everywhere (but we love him)! I bet your week was just as hectic! Well, I need some pampering after all this, don’t you?
A few months ago, I started a series called “Spa Day Saturday” and I shared some amazing DIY spa treatments. Well, I think we all deserve at least 1 day of pampering each month. To help with this, I will be posting a DIY spa goodie the third Saturday of each month. Oh, that’s today!
Today, I’m sharing a recipe for “Lavender Milk Bath”. I’m sure you have almost all the ingredients in your home. If not, you can easily find them at your local grocery and natural foods store. Are you ready for “Spa Day Saturday” to take you away?
Lavender Milk Bath
Baths are a quick and easy way to add a bit of pampering into the end of each day. So after a long week, or long day of running errands, doing housework, working in your yard, or other “Weekend Warrior-ing” whip up a batch of this amazing goodness and you’ll be transformed into a princess!
Ingredients:
- 1 cup of oatmeal
- 1 cup of instant milk
- 1 cup of baking soda
- 20-30 drops of lavender essential oil
- 1/4 cup lavender buds or dried flowers
Directions:
- Place the oatmeal in a food processor and blend a minute or so until it is powdery in consistency.
- In a large bowl, add the powdered oat meal, instant milk, baking soda, lavender essential oil and lavender buds/flowers. Mix to thoroughly combine the lavender oil.
- Place in a jar (I used a Bath and Body Works candle jar)
To enjoy your new lavender milk bath, place 4-6 Tbsp under the faucet as you fill your tub! Oh, and to make this even more amazing, light some candles in your bathroom and play some soothing music. You’ll feel like the fabulous person you are!
