Are you ready to have your world turned upside down? Can you believe that you can make focaccia bread on your grill? Directly on your grill? Well, you can and this is inspiration no. 5!
Grilled Focaccia Bread
Doesn’t this look scrumptious? And you’ll never guess how easy and quick it is! Trust me….and this recipe will make everyone think you are a grilling master!
For the dough
- 1/2 cup warm water
- 1 package (1 Tbsp) yeast
- 1 Tbsp sugar
- 1 cup flour (plus more for kneading)
- 1 Tbsp oil (I used olive oil) + additional for brushing on your dough
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp granulated garlic
- 1/2 tsp basil
- 1/2 tsp oregano
- 1/2 tsp thyme
- 1/2 tsp salt
If using a charcoal grill, bank the majority of your coals on one side to create a “hot” grill and leave a few on the other side for a “cooler” grill. Place your dough on the grill, oiled side up. After about 30 seconds or so, turn your dough a quarter turn and grill an additional 30 seconds (you should have nice grill marks).
Flip your dough over and place onto the cooler side of your grill. Brush on additional olive oil and sprinkle with your spice blend. Cover with your grill lid and cook an additional 4-5 minutes.
Cut up your grilled bread into pieces. Doesn’t this look amazing? It’s great along side a salad, some pasta, or with some other grilled goodies.
