A wonderful woman I know has recently gotten engaged and I thought it would be great to make an afghan for her and her fiance. When I looked at various patterns on Ravelry, most afghans have a finished dimension of approximately 3 ft x 4 ft. A great size for one but not for snuggly newlyweds. So, I pulled out my trusty knitting stitch pattern book and went in search of an easy pattern that I could adapt to an afghan. I found this lacy vertical zig zag pattern. Simple enough for TV knitting!
So, now it was just a matter of casting on and knitting up an afghan. My finished measurements are 51″ wide by 57″ long. Perfect for some snuggly newlyweds. Since it is so large, I decided not to add any fringe. Take a look!
Do you think she’ll like it? It took about 2 weeks of knitting….I think I’ll be knitting another one. Here’s the pattern in case you’d like to knit one up yourself!

how lovely, I recently bought myself wool and needles, I know the basics of knitting, but I saw in Molly Makes beautiful pulse warmers with an owl on it and as my son went to Germany on Wednesday (I am from Namibia)I love to make them for him, but still trying to figure out all the abbreviations though, hope I can figure it out….
Think I found a nice blog to follow here…
