As many of you know, my family rescued Curtis (we think a beagle/lab mix) December of 2010 when he was about 3 months old. Talk about a blessing. He has really enriched the lives of everyone in the family. We’ve gone through the puppy stage with him and Curtis is now a very social, loving dog.
About 7 weeks ago, our local pet store, Delaware Pet Stuff, rescued a 2 year old beagle/lab mix named Martha. She had lived almost her entire life in a crate, was covered in fleas, was full of worms, and had already had a litter. The store owners thought she would be a great match for Curtis. We tossed around the idea for a couple of weeks and then decided to first foster her to see how well Martha and Curtis got along.
A week or so after we took Martha home I received my package from Comfort Zone® with D.A.P.®. I was pretty pumped. This product looked like something that would help both dogs through the transition period. You know what, it did! Here’s a picture of Martha and Curtis today.
Before using Comfort Zone® with D.A.P.® (Dog Appeasing Pheramone) , Curtis became a barker whenever Martha was near (he was not a baker previously) and Martha would whine and scratch. Once I started using Comfort Zone® with D.A.P.® these behaviors began to subside (it can take up to 90 days for you to see the full effects). This product has helped make the addition of a second dog into our family a positive one. I think this will also help with the upcoming holiday season: additional guests, changes in routine, etc.
Comfort Zone® with D.A.P.® has a great Facebook page to help keep you informed. I suggest that you “like” them today so you can receive their updates on your newsfeed. You’ll be glad you did! You can find it at many of your local pet stores including PetSmart and Petco along with online.

I’ve lived with animals all my life, and My Mom used to feed homeless cats (which I’m trying to do now), so I’m very moved by what you wrote!
Lucky Curtis and lucky Martha !:)
