I told you that when I get jazzed about something new I become somewhat obsessive. Okay, VERY obsessive! Well, with all the heat we have been experiencing, I’m loving foods that require NO heat to prepare/enjoy. So, my obsession is HUMMUS! I have shared with you two of my recipes that turned out amazing: Spicy Hummus and Sweet Hummus (wow, what original names!). These are both fairly basic twists on traditional hummus. Are you ready to turn the world upside down? Look!
Thin Mint Hummus (thin mint “cookie dough”)
Ingredients:
1 15 oz can (1 3/4 cups) garbanzo beans (chick peas)
1/3 cup chocolate hazelnut butter (nutella works but I used Justin’s chocolate hazelnut butter)
1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1/4-1/3 cup maple syrup
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 tsp peppermint extract
1/4 cup water – optional
Directions:
1. Drain and rinse the garganzo beans
2. Place all ingredients in a food processor and blend. Scrape down the sides and blend again until smooth.
3. If you stop here, your hummus will be the consistency of cookie dough…it is yummy just as is ready to enjoy with just a spoon. It would satisfy your cookie dough cravings!
4. If you would like a more “dip” consistency, add 1/4 cup water and blend until smooth.
This hummus will amaze you. It tastes like thin mint cookie dough. Whip some up to enjoy today!

I love me some hummus but have only had the “usual” versions so I may need to try this one. Thanks for sharing at Tout It Tuesday. Hope to see you tomorrow!

Visiting from DIY Adventures. Cute idea! I was kinda hoping you had used actual thin mints… I have three boxes of them in my pantry that I’m desperately trying hard not to eat. Since hummus is usually healthy , I figured I could puree them and call them hummus and it would be ok to eat 2 or 3… or a box… at a time, lol.
