When our daughter was just 1 year old, my husband and I traded an old drafting table for a yellow labrador retriever puppy. We named her Suzy and she lived to be 11 years old. She was a sweetheart!
I had never had a dog when I was growing up so I knew very little about anything when it came to dog food. My family was on an incredibly tight budget so I would just go to the store and purchase whatever food would fit into that month’s budget…usually one of the cheapest. Suzy had a lot of health concerns when she was around 10: old but not ancient. The lack of good nutrition, I believe caught up with her.
Our current dog, Curtis, is a yellow lab/beagle mix that we rescued a little over a year ago. From our experience with Suzy, I know the importance of a good dog food. I am contemplating making my own, not for cost savings but for nutritional benefits for the dog in my life. Here is one of the sites I have been researching.
Homemade dog food
It seems pretty easy and the health benefits would prove to be far superior to so many of the store bought brands. There are even an Easy cooked dog food recipe
What do each of you do for your furry friends? Do you make your own? Do you purchase dry dog food or canned? I think I am going to give this a try. How about you?

This is true, commercial dog food leads our dog to death. The best way to protect our dog and his/her health is homemade dog food. There are no. of blogs which can suggest what ingredients you should use to prepare the food. One of such sites http://www.petmeal.net. Please go through the site and prepare food by yourself and make your dog healthy.
