I don’t know about you but it seems as though the yummiest and easiest recipes you get from your friends are often times the easiest and simplest? That’s the case with my Poppy Seed Bread Recipe. It was given to my mom from a friend years ago and all you do is combine all the ingredients in a bowl, mix, pour into pans and bake. How easy is that? And my kids….well, their eyes just roll in the back of their heads when they eat it. Hope you enjoy this recipe as much as my family!
Poppy Seed Bread
(makes 2 loaves)
Ingredients:
3 cups flour
2 cups sugar
3 eggs
1 1/2 cup milk
3/4 cup vegetable oil
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
1 1/2 tsp salt
1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1 1/2 tsp almond extract
1 Tbsp poppy seeds
(Note: you will also need spray oil or oil/flour for preparing your pans)
Equipment:
Mixing bowl
Beaters or wisk
Spatula
2 loaf pans
Oven
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 350 Degrees F. Prepare two loaf pans by either spraying them with oil or rubbing the inside with butter/grease and coating them with flour.
Combine all ingredients (flour, sugar, eggs, milk, oil, baking powder, salt, vanilla, almond, and poppy seeds) in a mixing bowl. Beat 2 minutes at medium speed or using a wisk, stir until thoroughly combined. Pour into prepared loaf pans. Bake for 1 hour (or until toothpick comes out clean). Turn onto cooling racks and cool!
